Breaking news: The February issue of Max Power, on sale 12th January 2011, will be the last issue in its current guise. It will be a collectable super-sized issue celebrating modifying. As a big finale for the monthly mag it will embrace all that is great within our scene. This will be an event that’s not to be missed....
The Max Power brand will be kept alive in the future with a series of “one shots” and specials

Bit of a shame really. They started out years ago very well with a mk1 escort with a cossie engine and 4x4 running gear. They just changed with the times I suppose.

I might buy the last issue, will be some good memories in there tbh, some pioneering cars, some ridiculous events (nagata on the a1) for example, almost like a timeline of the modified scene. Hopefully it'll have pics of all the max power mag cars too.

Agree with Nic, it's a shame, however much we mock, we've all bought it at some point.

I used to buy Max Power, Fast Car, Redline every month for years. Had piles of them all of my room, only stopped when I started to drive and had the Corsa so bought Total Vauxhall instead.

I think when I first read it bodykits and stick on tat was just becoming the rage

I imagine a few of us have had kitted cars in our younger days?

I blame scene cars for well.. Err.. Ruining the scene.. It's just become about stupid camber and ride heights

Rarely do they have any poke

I was talking to Stavs from Redline about this, he said, the women were dropped from their mag to increase revenue from advertisers and so the mag itself is more 'socially accepted'. Plus with mags like Zoo and Nuts, they can have the girls in now

Edit, Redline sales went up when girls were removed!
