I've never attempted any 1RM's. Wouldn't be that impressive anyway!

Probably just end up embarrassed and/or injured! Did 4x10 60kg deadlifts. and 4x 10 70kg + bar squats (on smith machine as that's all they have) yesterday, am upto 32.5kg dumbells on flat bench 3x6, so hardly a gripper! Upto 83kg bodyweight, but tall and thin.

I failed on my 3rd rep of a 210kg deadlift.
Mashed my back now.. cant sit, stand, lie down without being in agony.
Getting in or out of a car is intresting too.. it becomes a roll now.

Thats what worries me about deadlifts, did 160kg again last week for one rep. Felt ok so thinking of going for 170kg this week but dont want fuck my back if i fail.

My legs were killing me after this weeks deadlift on Friday, right above my knees. Not sure if it was muscle pain or where the bar had pushed against my legs as they were red and bruised. Just about OK now.

Are you sure your form is right? The only time my back got really sore from deadlifting was when my form was shitty. Either that or I'm not lifting enough

Not meaning to sound condescending!

Im booked in for a massage on wednesday.. If that fails ill be seeing a chiro.
But im 99% certain my form was well out, I train alone at the moment so have no conformation.

Ah well, looks like no more deadlifts till after xmas.

Yeah, best to take a few months off the deadlifts if it's done your back in. It is most likely poor form that has caused your issue. I used to have terrible form on deads and relied far too much on my lower back for both the first and last portions on the lift.

Now I start the lift with my arse at a much lower depth and use leg drive to get the momentum going and keep my head up right as much as possible. Keeping your head up helps to keep your back straight throughout the movement.

ahh right, so you only need to lift it once you don't need to repeat? i can lift a fair weight once from fitting exhausts all day everyday, some of them are bloody heavy, but i'm shite at lifting heavy weights repeatedly, personally prefer alot of reps with a lesser weight...
