I have been using elephant more or less constantly for the past couple of years and they usual jack up the price on the renewal till I call then it becomes much more reasonable lol

however this years renewal is just a joke, are they still the cheapest company around for a younger drive even though im 27 trying to insure a Corsa C cdti sri

Last year I tried those comparison sites but found in general doing it through a site was actually cheaper just wonder who else to try this time round without logging onto a thousand websites

becoming a growing trend in threads atm, having had the same experience recently insuring the Astra i found it cheaper to be a named a driver on my dads policy - even though i wont get any no claims discount at the end of the policy - however my no claims discount hasnt really done me any favours with my renewal anyway. Try Tesco and Adrian Flux, they came out cheapest individually when i tried

I'm afraid it's all part of your imagination as Pow and John didn't get an increase.

The news was wrong too, it seems this is all disinformation by big brother to keep you all under control!

I paid about £10 less than last year in the end and I tried about 20 companies to get that. Takes the mick. £10 for one more years NCB, hardly seems fair.

I got told varying stories by the broker I was using last year too. 1st story when I rang was that the underwriter they were using wasn't going to insure anyone under the age of 30 now, 2nd time I rang and spoke to a different person they said they weren't taking any new business on full stop. WTF?!

Then they came up with a price through another underwriter called Allianz of £800+ which was a big increase. So I rang elsewhere and they gave me a quote of £500. And I'm pretty sure the underwriter they are using is..... Allianz

The other company were blatantly trying to screw me over.

They make you laugh/angry. Surely if insurance premiums need to increase due all the claims here is a thought - put the increase on to those people that have made claims, don't penalise the ones that haven't made any claims. Hardly rocket science is it

That is the fair and reasonable thing to do so in the absence of them not doing that the only conclusion I can come to is that they are trying to rip people off.

I find calling for insurance the biggest pain in the balls.
But, it definitely pays off after trying loads of brokers.

Ended up with a quote difference of £1,000! between cheapest and the next

Renewal for VXR came through last week, 880 I think it was when we paid 750 last year, done a new quote on Admirals website and guess what?

715 why do they bother sending ridiculous renewals through?
