When I advantually get my licence back and take out a policy, obviously I'll need to tell them I have epilepsy.

What I'm wondering how much do u think this will alter my premium? Bearing in mind from the specialists point of view I'll be safe enough to drive as u have to be fit free for a year before I'm able to get my licence back.

So surely the insurance will pick up on that?

I'd worry about that IF you get your license back.

Bit of a risk driving with epilepsy isn't it mate? my Mum has it and ok you might not have had a fit for a year but that isn't to say you wont ever have one again, seems a bitof a risk, not only with your own life may i add too.

Up to the Docs I suppose. If they say it's ok then that's reason enough.

It's insurance, any opportunity to hike up your premium and they will, i'd prepare the lube.

To be fair Nath, if Ben D say's its dangerous the Doc's don't have a leg to stand on

Thought so. And theres obviously a reason why I've started having these fits after my accident which is why the specialists are trying to get the bottom of it. Hence why I currently have pads on my chest with wires coming out of them to some computer which I bave to leave in my pocket

Thought you've had like 4 or 5 cars since your accident

I'm not 100% on the rules but I don't think my ins company asked me any medical questions and I dint remember Mrs J having to declare her epilepsy?!

My uncle is epileptic, as far as I know it doesn't any difference to his insurance, they never ask you about medical conditions any way do they?
And them people saying it's abit of a risk driving of course it's not, my uncle hasn't had a fit in 30odd years now,
Most average people have no idea they have it until the first fit, does that mean none of us should drive?

No, and it doesn't mean people who do have it shouldn't drive either, that's why they give a year between fits, minimising the risk, although it's still quite a big risk if you end up taking out a bus stop full of school kids.
