its 1 more than 499 but not quite 501mb tbh just to give you a rough idea of where about it sits on the scale.
in serious answer though i have never once gone over it, facebook is left on all day updating itself, served cs during dinner hours for a month+ other forums, downloaded apps. like i say never gone over it.

I reset my iPhone 3 months ago and have done ~5gig since then.
I hardly ever watch youtube or stream on it. I do browse heavily though and upload pics to facebook/photobucket.

Used my iPhone a lot, think I managed 400mb in a month, thats the most though. That was when I was in Scotland for a week and away from WiFi, if you mix and match it with wifi, you shouldn't go over.

It differs from tarrif to tarrif, ie: T-Mobile Smartphone tarrifs are 3GB. Similarly GiffGaff offers 100% Unlimited data (just don't tether) with their bundles.

Depends when you signed up, when I got the bolt on added unlimited was unlimited and afaik I've never been charged for excess data (and like I said before, I'm over a gig a month).
Equally, the pay-n-go sim that was in it before never objected to similar useage with its free unlimited data. (O2, bought ~June 2008, only ever put £20 top up on it over the year for sending texts and an accidental email sync abroad that raped me :rolleyes
