Crap pics as it was freezing and I only had my phone with me:
and the result:
all I've done to it so far is fitted a different airbox arrangement, so pretty chuffed with the result. It did highlight it needs a better intercooler though as was losing 20bhp when it got hot
You may also notice it's got the aero kit grilles fitted now too.
Pic of airbox compared to standard:
More power mods to follow this year though
That is all!

Hi btw.
Was quite random having someone say 'Hi, are you Paul_J off corsasport, when I was driving a clio'
That was weird how they kept squirting water in and the power kept going up
Must fly in the rain lol.

It is pretty good fun - got a lower front strut brace for Christmas, so going to get the upper one to match, and that'll be the handling sorted too.
Only just got it 100% - recently had to fork out for a new steering column and crankshaft pulley / engine damper.
A mate did film it on a proper camera, so will post it when it's sorted, but I doubt you'll hear much due to the fan!
Being a JCW it already has a 11% reduced pulley, so the change to the normal upgrade of 15% is hardly worth it, and 17% isn't practical for road use.
Hi Paul I vaguely recognised you from a CS meet years back and the Clio just confirmed it!

Cheers for the offer James - It's got a top mount one as standard, but needs uprating to one from the Mini GP or an aftermarket one such as a GRS one - I'm hoping I can bag one secondhand though, as a GRS is about £400 new if not.
Pier - Yeh I guess they are quite subtle really - the JCW badge tends to get a few people trying it on though

didn't know it was a JCW that's a nice figure, bet a lot more powerful cars don't realise just what the little mini is capable of.

I had 2 Cooper S's that I'd narrowed it down to - a Cooper S with heated leather, or this one which had everything bar heated leather, I went for power over warmth
It does well against a fair few things definitely, but unfortunately, in general the ones that know what JCW mean tend to have cars that are quicker than mine
Had a bit of a play with a V6 ZS on the way home - that one obviously didn't know what a JCW was

glad you went for this one over the warmth as heated seats are well overrated imo, i have only used mine once (suppose only driven the car 5times since buying it) but i cant see when i would ever use them again other than to try them.
didnt realise they had so much power either , whats the difference engine wise between normal s and the jcw one?

If it had the airbox and something else (that I can't remember!), yeh. That was only available from 2004 onwards when BMW bought the rights to the John Cooper name, and all mods were done in house.
Mine was taken off the production line as a Cooper S, then taken to John Cooper to be fettled with, and was a 200bhp package, or supposedly only 195 @ the flywheel.
JCW kit on mine is 11% reduced pulley, full exhaust, tweaked map and different injectors from what I remember.

No worries, I didn't take it that way
TBH, the earlier Mini's are pretty confusing spec wise - I've read shed loads of threads on various forums and still don't understand it all!
