I thought I'd start a new thread as the old one got a bit daft ! So my mates st vs my Corsa from a standing start and it was wet , we both launched he got the jump on me I changed into 2nd spun up the got grip and edged past him changed into 3 rd and was infront just then he backed off and pulled in behind me ! So in my book that's a win prob would have beaten me top end but the Corsa was victorious ! Peace

nova redtop beat me not much in it though.

what do you expect with a 150bhp 1000kg corsa vs a 225bhp 1400kg focus?

you're talking 10-15bhp though which in the real world is nothing. that could be eradicated by having a full tank or a passenger.

ST's and RS's are the new cunt cars in my book. Not seen one driven nicely round my way yet. All the owners seem to think they're navigating a rocket ship.

From a standing start it's hardly surprising you got a better start, especially in the wet. If he could drive, he would beat you from 3rd gear onwards. That's the end of it.

true though there is an old guy who drives one around the corner from me who is a boring sod and never goes over the speed limit, ever!

most are driven by young lads though, as they are easy to get on finance and one of the cheapest new turbo hatches to insure.

Yes, but not so much the bullshit that seems to come with a good % of members these days!!

I had a redtop Corsa, yes it was fast, but not amazing - the only thing that was ever amusing about it was the fact it was quite subtle so was able to surprise quite a few people through the first 3 gears - after that anything with decent power beat me
