Right iv had a Clio 197 for 12 months now and with the ever increasing cost of fuel I think it's time to get shot I do about 70 miles a day and work for a supermarket, the 197 already has 2 trolley dings to get rid of before I sell it's just getting ruined

Don't really want a corsa, has a corsa c sri cdti before the Clio got bored with that.

Thinking Peugout 307 or 207, Cruise control would be good as would climate control

Any ideas...

Also I would worry buying a cheap car with that mileage that bits will be needing replacing so will probably cost you a few quid in maintenance

high mileage isn't as doomed as people make out. 100 just seems a large number to the scaredy pants people . as if in 20000 miles a car goes from being fine to being a massive risk that will cost you loads.

My brothers fiance has an 07 Civic 2.2 Sport diesel, i've driven it a couple of times and it's really comfy. 140bhp, good MPG, pretty quick, handles really well and they're well spec'd. Might be a little more than £5k for one, but i'd definitely consider it!

Cars are made up of parts, the more you use them more likely they are to wear out or need replacing. It's not that 100k cars are bad or should be avoided or they will explode etc. It's the fact he wanted a cheap to run car...

If bits need replacing it will cost £££ thus being a false economy

My Golf tdi - £6k though

As above though, VW pd tdi engine is great. Mapped to 140 and its just as economical as the lower powered map.
