If he did it'll fail on exhaust hangers/ bracket or the most miniscule blow will be excessive gases.

I took a wee polo I got for fuck all down to McConnechy's up here (arseholes). There was a hole about half the size of a 5p piece just before the backbox that I knew about but thought it'd be fine. The apprentice was helping the guy do the MOT so I asked him what he thought of that blow - 'should be fine' he said. Next thing I know the cunty MOT guy comes through and says it's failed on it, saying it's 'dangerous because the gases could make their way into the cabin'. Bullshit, would never take a car to an exhaust/ tyre place again for an MOT.

Technically speaking they can fail you on a pin prick hole, anywhere the gas can escape can be failed (other than the tail pipe obviously before anyone tries it)

Technically, yes, but it's down to the tester's discretion. And I know he knew it wasn't too bad, he was giving me the same shit he'd give a 60 yr old woman.

Why would you take it knowing there was a hole there? You're asking for it to fail.

I've had cars MOTd with worse than what that had. As said, I got it for fuck all and it was in such a state that I just flung it in. It failed on rust and needed about £400 welding done anyway, you can guess what happened to it.
