Mates box on his Astravan Sportive 150 CDTi has shat its pants.

Just left the Autosport show in Brum,started jumping out of 6th gear.Then it wouldnt go into 1st,2nd or 5th.Had to drive home using 3rd and 4th.

08 plate with 23k on the clock.

Its got the 19" VXR wheels,should he remove these when it goes in to get fixed on warranty??

Just thought i would add another case to the internet hyped myth.

I'd remove everthing that isnt standard just give them an excuse to say no sorry cant do it you've voided the warrenty

Debatable,box on his old 380bhp Evo 5,Scooby R/A or the other umpteen cars he's had never fuked up.

Oh and no symptoms either,just straight out of the blue it happened.In a way he got lucky as the warranty is up in March iirc.

I've been warning everyone i know about these cars.

but tbh, all the folk i know with astra vxr's don't seem to keep them very long, its as if they get boring and things break

Bearings in mine are beginning to make noises at 33k. But I don't know how it was treated before I got it etc...

LSD is in there mate. It's only in 6th at the moment, my mates going to do an oil change asap to make sure it's not the oil. If not I'll have to get it sorted

i had a friend who shoved some banans into a saxo VTR box to cushion the bearings so they didnt make any noise. it worked lol

Ive heard of a "slush" box(auto),but never a banana box.

I had a friend who put shit in his gearbox,now thinks he has a 'dog box.
