I bought this phone SIM free (was cheaper than PAYG for some reason ) yesterday to replace my Nokia 5800, what a great little phone this is!
It's a cheaper version of the HTC Desire, I can even set it up as a Wifi hotspot if I want to.
Decided to wait until September when my contract is up for renewal and will decide then whether to:
a) keep the phone
b) get an iPhone 4/5
c) get a HTC Desire HD or HD7
I bought this as I want to try out a card processing 'app' on it (it's an Android phone for those that don't know) for use with my work. Until recently I thought this was only available on the iPhone.
Anybody else on here have this phone or an Android phone in general, what do you make of it?

I'm an Andriod convert, had a HTC Hero before which I loved but it was really slow and also didn't work with the bluetooth in the mito.
Just got a Nexus S, nice bit of kit but I'm not 100% on it, still getting used to it

I've got the HTC Wildfire, had since last September, great little phone, I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. Not really an App person, but there are a fair few apps for it.
My favorite App has to be the SlideIT Keyboard, obviosuly a keyboard app but instead of pressing the keys you slide it from one to another.

I have a desire and I wouldn't go back, I do like the iPhone but is very limited imo in terms of customization which is a big part for me I like to fuck around with everything.
I have a rooted desire and the ability to free up internal memory to help keep the phone alive is a big bonus as it will just get bogged down with apps and app info

Wildfire is good apart from the screen, which is shocking.

Oh right. Yes some of the reviews I initially read online said that also, but then for the price it's not going to be exactly the same spec wise as the Desire.
I find it's actually better than my old Nokia 5800, so I'm happy.

Went into Phones4U today, can buy the Handset for £129.99, with £15/month contract.

£100-150 off eBay. Then stick a Tesco/GiffGaff sim in it.
Surprised you don't like the Nexus S though, how come?

Nath, it's a £130 quid phone without the £15 contract.
Aaron, not on this occasion, got my mum one, screen is crap, she can't play solitaire anymore because it's that bad. It's not even just the resolution, it looks blurry for some reason, good phone otherwise.

Mine cost £210 from Carphone Warehouse, but it was SIM free. I'm with O2 and the O2 PAYG version was actually more expensive than the SIM free!
Phones4u don't have it on PAYG as I checked online and asked in store.
I know I could have got it cheaper online new or secondhand, but I wanted to get one the same day - I'm an impatient fucker!
Don't know where you can get it for £130 though - unless you mean secondhand, I can't find any for that price (new)?

On a network or SIM free?
Cheapest on there ATM is £160 on T-Mobile PAYG, SIM free is £245. Cheapest Desire is the "Z" SIM free at £439, nothing on PAYG.

It's factually crap compared to a large proportion of smart phones out just now, if you put it next to something like a desire, especially when it can be had for 60 or 70 quid more, it's terrible.
