Explain the differences? I'm going to a "999" themed night at a club tonight and i imagine there will be many "cops" there. What exactly is the law's point of view of this?

It it not if you actually claim to be a real officer? I.e dressing up for a party should be ok?

When the real Police turn up to arrest you all it's gonna get pretty confusing.

you're allowed to dress in whatever you want.

just not allowed to 'claim to be one' if someone were to ask you etc.

I didn't realise they let "specials" join the police force these days...

Nothing official, if your going to wear a tac vest make sure its not got badges etc on it.

If you borrow your mates, he could be in trouble, so would advise against it.

this thread reminds me of last night. some black friend of my friend had a stab vest with police pattern on the back and put it on as another friend was "testing" the vest. I was like O_O k.

Your allowed to have a car with blue lights and sirens and have ambulance/ploice written on it but you aren't allowed to use the sirens/lights on the road, seen it on TV once
A guy had a fake ambulance, but was let off on his way.

I know a guy that let his mate borrow his uniform to go take the piss out of someone, giving them a fake parking ticket or whatever. I don't know the exact story but it ended up with the guy I know being sacked.

Do you not mind the guy that was kicking about a few year ago, turning up to crime scenes and the like in fake cop car and ambulances dressed as the police/ paramedics? He was some crazy millionaire that seemingly didn't have anything better to do with his life

There were 3 guys dressed as SWAT, but one of them had POLICE on him. A couple of coppers outside gave him a caution and told him not to act up to his uniform or they would arrest him.
