To be fair, this has been published as anti-islam, as when I read it last, it was a local village with no clear law had given this punishment - and now it's an Islamic court. Either way, 'fucked up' is a good description.

Generally speaking the Muslim faith actually breeds peace and love but there are a small number (relatively speaking) of Islamists and fundamentalists who are pretty messed up people (by our western standards) and its a sad but true fact that their activities make much better news.

Stoning a woman because she was raped isn't bad by 'our western standards' really now is it, it's a law that kills a woman through no fault of her own.
Divorce and homosexuality laws, no matter whether you agree with them or now, don't end up with somebody dead.

They are fucked up..I know there's a lot of peaceful regular joe muslims [or regular muhammad muslims] that just want to get on with life [which is why it's unfair to tar them all with same brush, be racist or go paki bashing etc]. But most fucked up individuals seem to come through that religion so they're doing something wrong

That is the whole point of Democracy though Root, the idea (although this is always the case) is that a Majority vote someone into power, sadly you're not always part of that majority.
And I mention freedom of speech because you talk about the papers reporting on shocking stories to make sales, but thats because we've got freedom of speech if you want to control the media you lose that freedom.
And I'm not using big words to try and manipulate your thoughts, I just believe you dont really know what you are talking about.
