A lot of the very old stuff is gone forever either because some of the old moderators were a bit happy with their privs or the old computer systems were not brilliant.

The very early message board software wasn't even a proper database and used to keep a record of who had posted in regular text files, meaning if two people posted at the same time the thing would lose its place and start counting at zero again. So early posts regularly got overwritten. DB hosting was loads of money in those days.

I'm very happy to query the database to get old stuff although pagination in search is also in the pipeline when I work it out. Problem is that my current approach isn't particularly efficient and I don't want to kill anything.
