to cut a long story short had a larger turbo fitted etc running 1.4 bar (nothing really)

was expecting around 400bhp

bloody 350bhp was not happy, feels and drives really well (feels more than 350bhp), so im getting it mapped again to get 420bhp will be a beast

i would recommend people to get there cars rr to see what can be done.

Like steve says mate its not all about the figs it makes on a rr its what it can do in the real world.

I expected my old evo to produce around the 370+bhp mark but made 350bhp instead but on the road it had no trouble with the 360-380bhp models.

these parts were fitted when mapped

my internal engine parts are yet to be fitted.

im only running 47% duty on the turbo so its hardly doing anything at the min, another remap is needed

Well no wonder it's low readings. The turbo isn't even mapped for the car yet. It'll be good for 500+bhp when it is.

roger clarke who is renound on the subaru scene tells some funny stories on scoobynet, he gets shed loads of customers come in saying "i want 500bhp can you build it" and he asks them if they want a drive out in a car first of that power to see what its like, he takes them out blasts it and he says 90% of the time they say "yes thats exactly what i want" he says right thats fine, the car is only 390bhp and i just saved you nearly 9 grand

barnshaw i used to know a guy who worked at tts towcester tuning shop for bikes well known and respected...... basically guys would go inside and demand certain figures etc and the guys doing the tuning and rolling roads etc were told by his boss to just rev the bike for no apparent reason and waste time basically just so it sounded to the customer who was drinking coffee that he was not being fooled for 5 mins work lol

but the fact of ther matter is its only 5 mins to get what they wanted but they are so stupid they dont realise............ the sort of people who spend 1k on a exhaust because its 0.586g lighter than there origional so it must improve performance they only need to carry a 2quid coin and they just added more than what they've saved hahahahaha

realistically on the road 400bhp is plenty and in most cases will be enough to see most things off. I think people just see figures and want it for pub talk

no this isnt for pub talk, my torque is low and can be made soon and more same story with the boost, 400/400 will make is much easier to drive and a fair bit quicker

is it not worth doing all the work to engine and getting all the parts fitted then getting it mapped!

surely otherwise your just gonna spend out again when it needs mapping after engine has had more work!

maybe i am just tight on money and dont like spending twice for things to be done

echo'ing some of the above comments -

If you like how it drives why bother re-mapping for more boost now? Play it safe and do it once the internals are sorted out.

400+ bhp is the safe limit, then you should look at getting forged bits.

Mine is running 413bhp and 400lb/ft torque, not yet forged.
Don't know if I can be bothered because I don't drive it that hard tbh.

Rob C20LET, you need yours mapping
