106 gti is 850kg ruff weight and 120bhp
corsa is 950kg and 125bhp power to weight ratio is better on the pug thats why you should fit a redtop 150bhp

^^^Wat engine would that Corsa with a 125 bhp have in it?? Because x16xe don't run that high without mods.

A friend has a standard running gti and my 1.6 sport has a couple of engine mods n his is still alot quicker.. But obviously the 1.8 is more near on power as the gti.

I love how the 106 gti is the standard issue bench mark for all engine/suspension mods

106 gti will spank a 1.6 corsa all day long. They are rapid little cars

I'd imagine a 1.8 B would be on par with a 106 Gti until you get to the twisty stuff

The 106 GTI is as near as dammit on par with the 2ltr corsa. The corsa WILL be quicker in a straight line but only just.

Corners wise the 106 is built for them a corsa with a heavy engine isnt unless you spend a fair bit of money sorting the suspension.

All this "Its french" talk is a load of bollocks as well. My old XE corsa fell apart around me in the 2yrs I had it but in the year I had my 106 not one thing needed fixed or replaced.

I'm not saying the corsa is a bad car as a lot of them on here are bloody well looked after.

I really don't see the fascination with these 106 GTi's?

Having said that tho, I've never driven one or been in one.
