won some alloys that i knew a member on another forum was selling on ebay. i won the auction for less than a third of the price he was asking for them. got an email saying they had sold through before auction end on a forum.
i messaged the guy on the forum to see if he still had them just, and he is stated they haven't sold, where do i stand with this?

Can't really make him sell them if he doesn't want to, leave neg feedback, pretty much all you can do.

Clearly lies but what can you do?

If he's priced them three times what they're worth, it's not likely he'll move. Regardless of whatever promises he's made via Ebay.

Ebay won't care, even when you report him with evidence he can just make up some story.

Was in the same boat.

Won a Scooby WRX interior for 2.20 and the Nardi Torino steering wheel for 1.02.Both in separate auctions.Txt and msg'd the guy through ebay,no reply. So txt him off my GF's phone regarding other items he had for sale and he txt back.

Clearly wasn't going to sell them for that price so just left 2 lots of bad feedback.

People using eBay need to learn how to work the system.

On another note...... sightly related, I really dont see the point in putting reserves on anything, its just annoying bidding on something that you might not even win in the end because there item is extortionate, much easier just starting the auction at the price you wouldnt accept any less than.

see one of my family's friend had this on a motorhome, was worth like 70k and he won for 40k or somthing, ended up reporting him and something to do with ebay backing him up as its part of the contract or somethng, the guy wouldn't let it go for that price and got taken to court, and the bloke got the motorhome and compensation, so it shouldn't matter if its lower, just report him and see what comes up, few years ago now so i can't remember the full story
