Smokey on cold start. Can freeze in your tank and fuel lines. Isn't friendly to new diesel fuel systems with piezo injectors and electric fuel pumps.

Works fine in old cars and in the summer though. Can't remember the price though.

i use it in my bora, have no problems what so ever, no more smokey on cold starts and will not freeze if its proper bio due to what its mixed with, only thing i have to do is change the filter every 6 or so months but they are only cheap anyway and dont take long.

How much is it per litre? Keep thinking about putting it in my Series 3/Defender 200TDI.

My friend uses bio diesel in his 1.3 cdti corsa c, no more smokey or less powerfull, better mpg on bio than normal, only thing he noticed was that if he filled tank from empty to full with it when we had the really cold wheather it took around 5 seconds more cranking to start than normal, so now he leaves around a fiver normal then fills up bio and its fine, pays around 1 pound 1 pence a litre lol

Well that doesnt make sense. Are you sure you not getting more 'mpg' because you are getting more fuel for your money?

200 miles to 20 quid isn't amazing in a non pd 1.9tdi.

As rich said, you're getting more fuel with bio-diesel for 20 quid than you are for 20 quid of normal diesel, that doesn't = better mpg.

I have the 90PS engine and last time i filled up i got 43-44 MPG... over 120 miles. 60 of those where trips to work. 7.5 miles one way. other 60 where a trip to uni, B roads, Dual carriageways.

Personally I think that isnt brilliant, But i have cnahged oil, filter, Air filter and diesel filter since.

Some garages sell bio, Morrisons in Small Heath sells it from an orange pump.

Ahh, PD's aren't quite as good, I thought the PD's didn't like it.

If it was sold round here I'd chop the MiTo in for something that used it

I had a letter from SEAT telling me my 130PD was good to use biodiesel as long as it reached some DIN standard...
