So who all drives Diesels, I have my first Diesel, a Golf GTTDI but definitely prefer Petrols. Anyone on the same boat?
Think the days of V6 petrols are dying

I have a twin turbo, 3.0L, 270bhp diesel.
By far the best car I've ever owned and would not swap it for anything

What kind of motor you got?
Am still petrol in the head, would love an R32 if they weren't so gutsy!

No shadow of a doubt a petrol is far far smoother... but meh, costs me far far less to run the diesel for 15k a year.

My daily driver is a 1.5 turbo diesel. I don't mind it tbh, then again I've never experienced a petrol as a daily driver so I don't know any different.

I've gone from a v6 vectra gsi to a diesel cdti astra.
I love the economy and the turbo. But I do really miss the petrol v6, paticulally the vec as it was such a nice lazy comfy barge.
It's quite hard to get used to the lack of revs and keeping it in the short torque band but when you learn them they are just as rewarding.
Especially mine with he sport button being used.
But it's all about he economy/comprise to me now.

I always used to hate diesel with a passion but I've come to realise recently it's not so bad and I need one. I've had a 1.8 Primera now for 3 months and I've put over 7k on it, so that puts me on target for about 30k for the year. In a Primera that generally does between 32 and 35 mpg, that's not ideal.
I've also come to love proper dervs like this

I've got a diesel, I like it, feels quick even if it's not, which is what matters for most of my driving.

You're a rare site now-a-days, but to answer your question, I drive a Golf TDI and a Skoda Fabia Desiel for work and I have to say I prefer a Diesel. (I have a petrol car for personal use).

Astra cdti and I love it just as much as when I was driving a thirstier Nissan pulsar!
They have just as much torque as performance petrol cars! Also it's comfortable, holds it's value more and cheap to run

My daily is currently a mk4 golf pd150 which is remapped to 191. Goes like stink with bags of torque plus get 53 mpg driving to work and that's on mostly national speed limit A roads. The only comparison I did was when my golf was a standard 150 I drove it back to back with my bros old Audi A3 which was a 150 petrol. It felt very flat and gutless compared with the diesel. Id have petrol again if I had a track toy but for anything else always be diesel now.

I've got a Audi A4 TDI. It's great. Only 147bhp but still feels quick and the torque is great. It's so quiet too. Still returns over 40mpg at 90mph, and driven carefully it's been up to 60mpg.
My missus had a 1.7CDTI Astra and it's a real rattlebox engine in comparison, but does the job.

Doubt I will go back to petrol after the Astra, even with its old rattly 2.0DTi lump of iron that isnt refined in the slightest
Having said that, on 2 wheels, petrol is a must

I love the sound of my petrol V8 though I am tempted to go test drive a new Range Rover with the TDV8, see what they are all about.

recently got my mapped grande punto diesel out, love the way you can join the motor way from a standstill and by only covering 2k rpm in every gear you are doing 90mph in no time, mine is really quiet to
