Can this only be done on old mechanical turbo charged diesel engines or N/A engines too?
I was wondering if you can make a Pug 106 1.5 derv (non turbo) run on veg oil mixed with diesel...

Depends what fuel pump it has, pretty sure that car will be fine, better invest in a hot water/fuel heat exchanger.

Your pug 106 is ideal for veggie oil. It will run on 100% veg oil at this time of year you only need to worry about mixing it or heating it when the weather is cold.
If you can find a source for waste oil and filter it properly then you will save a load in fuel costs. I ran a mondeo 1.8td on veg oil for a year back when new oil from the supermarket was about 80p a litre. The supermarkets have cottoned on now and hiked the prices of oil up to be compareable with diesel so there's no advantage in using clean oil.

Can be used or new, doesn't matter... new is over £1 for 1L used could be £0 for 1L.

I used to buy it in 25 litre drums from tesco and tip it straight in neat. No messing about with any filters then. Ran perfect for a year of motoring. Had to mix it a bit with diesel when it was cold and it used to smell but it ran well

You really need to heat the fuel if you want the injectors to atomise properly, otherwise after a while you will fuck the piston rings.

Used to run it in my passat, 100percent in summer,
And 5quids of petrol in with it in the winter for cold start ,
Did 6k on it,
Don't dare put it in the new mondeo, they have enough pump/injectors problems as it is lol.

Pretty sure the 1.9 pre-PD can take anything thrown at it.
PD ones are fine on RME and possibly veg.

Was reading about using used engine oil the other day and it is very bad for engines to run on for a few reasons.
