Why is it in some games you are forced to choose between good and evil?
You get the option of taking the moral high ground or being a cold hearted bastard. Even though you have to shoot your way through 1000's of bad guys, what do i still feel bad about killing a guy I could save?
I can't remember what i was playing recently, May of been Red Dead but i had that exact situation, I'd killed hundreds of people, then was given a choice to save or kill somebody, and for the first time i actually thought, do you know what, fuck him, i've killed so many people, I honestly dont care if you live or die.
Now usually i am the good guy, save the kids in bioshock, get the good karma in fallout.
What do you do?

I usually play the good guy and tell myself I'll play it through again as the bad, but I can never be bothered.
Sometimes they do it so you get different endings.

I still haven't completed Bioshock 2.
I get scared playing games because I feel like I might die in real life.
Infamous on the ps3 is one of the games I always promised I'd play again but evil.
I never did

In games like GTAIV and RDR it's a little hard to take moral choices seriously when you are gunning down hordes of 'bad guys' in every mission without a care for their families.
Like in GTA Niko is supposed to be traumatised from his past experiences in war and wants to reform his ways yet has no bones about shooting several hundred police officers over the course of the game.

This is exactly what happens in the Fallout games.
You can choose to be good or evil. An evil charactor can still do good deeds and vice versa. I like it when some NPC's comment and mutter that what you did was bad but they won't do anything about it!
Throughout my second play through I chose to be evil, at the start of the game I commited the most evil act imaginable by killing the entire residents of a town by setting off a nuclear bomb That was met with both praise and criticism depending on who I encountered! Towards the end of the game I accidentely become good
I guy I know played it and remained good throughout because he couldn't bring himself to be mean

If im playing B17 flight sim, i WILL shoot down half my own formation.

aww snap.
I like to think of my character as myself. often asking "what would Russ do in this situation?" usualy involves talking about it, eating a lot and not actually getting things done, hence 30 hours play time so far on Mas Effect 2

i hate making the decisions, i feel i will miss out on something, so move on and decide to come back later, i never get anything done and have virtual panic attacks about what i'm going to do and where i'm heading.

I'm always the evil bastard. On Red Dead an old woman was looking for her husband so she could renew her wedding vows. So I shot her dead for expecting me to do it. No-one lives in any game I get the choice in

Sometime choosing between good and bad can be the same as choosing between life and death. If he didnt shoot his way out a situation, he would be the dead man.
