Birmingham, Leeds, London, Bolton, Bradford etc pay off the national debt via burkah fines.
I like it. Do we have any MPs in the house to forward this motion?
I have always respected the French's nationalism and their willing to raise two fingers to the EU when it suits them, as they no doubt will here when this ends up being a human rights issue. Shame we don't have the testicular fortitude to do the same.

Although I respect people's right to wear what they want, there will always be issues over where we draw the line as to what is acceptable in society and what isn't.
I caught a few seconds of something on The One Show the other night, and they were doing a story on this very subject.
They had some woman on the show that was wearing a burkha, IIRC she said that in Islam it is optional to wear one and that personally if anyone asked her to remove it so that they could see her face she would. Not sure if every muslim woman that wears a burkha would be happy to do so though.
I personally don't think in this day and age people should wear clothes that cover them up from head to toe unless they are firefighters or whatever and *had* to do so - it gives the impression to the general public you have something to hide in my opinion...

Apparently only 1900 Burkha wearers there, according to their last census.
A French Millionnaire has offered to pay all fines given out.
