My latest Corsa project.
1995 GSi16v, Genuine 79k on it, every MOT from new & comprehensive history (Right down to the receipt for the wheels)

Got it off a mate on here, had a fresh headgasket & timing belt on it.
Was planning to rebuild the LET whilst running the GSi until my VTS was ready for daily use.

Sadly after 75 miles and the car feeling a bit funny i set off for work on Monday past and it went bang at the corner off my street and jumped the timing, done in 12 valves, after stripping it down over the weekend it looks like the tensioner had gave up?

Anyway i'll show the pics of the car i took last Sunday, went out a wee run with a friend and done about 50 miles.

The wee bit i went a wee run to (See some cool shit working with the forestry commision, but thank fuck i have my long weekend shifts working on the tools for the sake of my sanity)

Took the head off the 16XE to check the damage, Cheers to Alex800, Wee Del & Rab for the banter and lift whilst doing this, and Del for persuading the last head bolt out after the head of it half snapped lol.

After that i concluded i wasnt wasting my time fixing it as i hate small block.
Alex800 was needing a the injector loom and cooling hoses for his build so they were donated to him, and Wee Del is being donated the 1600 to rebuild for his fast road/rally Nova.

So today I set about removing the rest of the shit, and Alex800 popped round for a banter and lent a hand, and left with a space for SCS & the 4 branch mani for his 1600 (Cheers again mate)

And that takes it up to now.

July 2011 - Back on the road with a 16XE in it, decided to keep it original as they are becoming a bit rare.

Love it mate, would advise you to punt the Saxo daily in favour of something a bit more sensible though

My daily hack is a Focus, couldn't give a shit about it or where it's left etc, does the job fine. Saving for a LET myself so will do the same as you and have a reliable daily.

Rebuilding the LET is very wise, then you know where you fully stand with it

Aye thats the way i see it, rebuild it now, or take my chances and it could last 75 miles like the 16XE.

Had no issues with the Valver and i rebuilt it before it went in

Danny - I dont think i could drive a plain boggo daily, i need some excitement in my life mate, plus it doesnt owe me a lot of money

Seems to be the case on every one i've had.

Be getting new sills & arch panels after SCS, pretty much putting it together to take there, bringing it home and pulling it to bits again
