That would fit in perfectly with the new one not being released at the usual time, they'll sell a load of these as always, that would be massive missed profits if the new one came out a month later.

Yeh I thought they might do this and launch new one september ish. Then sell it in AppStore like they do with 3GS at mo then

Yeah - releasing in September means they can line it up with a the other ipod refreshes and also offset it from the iPad. July was too close to the ipad release. This gives them a nice 6 month buffer between them

release the white one, sell shitloads before they release the 5 and sell shitloads of them. sales are probably down at this time of year because of everyone holding out for the next one

id say joe public probably do by now after 4 consecutive releases. a couple of my friends without them are "waiting for the new one in a couple of months"

Interesting.
The behaviour of my company currently with promos/stock is EXACTLY the same as it was when 3GS was ending and iphone4 was due in a couple of months.
I still think it will be July.

i definately think the new one will be out in july. theres no harm in making a load of white ones now, because they'll keep selling them alongside the 5

I would be very surprised if they were to bring out a complete new iPhone.
very rare to see a products design change on a yearly basis especially something as technical and groundbreaking as the iPhone!
They would have to be working seriously hard to re-design the whole phone again, run tests, prototype endless amounts of time and then to tool up each component reading to complete a production of around 1 million units for the worldwide launch.
I'd say it will keep the same chassis but theres a chance the front and back glass panels can change perhaps for a bigger screen, 3D camera or perhaps multi touch on the back panel.

Been waiting for the White since June. Been checking engadget most days for updates. If it's out next Wednesday I'm all over it. Got the White iPad 2 and love it.
There will not be a new iPhone this June. I said it before, it will be in September and will be an a iPhone 4 with an A5 chip, 8mp camera, maybe more ram and it will be called iPhone 4S.

I think the black looks better when the screen is off but the White looks better when it's on. The White also looks much better in real life than in photos.
