when i was about 13 i got some kam belt drive decks and started mixing dance/trance/house music such as this atb, alice dj, maurio picoto, dirt devils, da hool, tiesto, rank 1 ect ect and my favourite tune was this (although i never ever had it)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHTjfJLTXsk
then when i was about 15/16 i got heavily into makina and got some old 1210s cheap. i was much better by this point and probably one of the best out of all my mates ect... i had loads of belter tunes and heres some examples (cs probably wont like them)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9Tsoc2DWrE&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOI_DwVA47Q
i eventually sold the decks due to never using them/growing up
although ive mostly grown out of the rave and now feel my earlier taste in music was better i kind of feel i want another set of decks and get back into it. is this a bad move? who has some?

if you've got the time to do it then go for it, best off getting cdjs i'd imagine though, can download everything for free then. Buying vinyl isn't a cheap hobby!
I had some stanton sl500s, bought them with mixer for 500, sold them a year later for 450, i was shit. Mainly as i had such random records and nothing really went together

Traktor is DJ software. Its pretty awesome (what i use).

its a xone4d http://www.allen-heath.com/xone/xone4d
i have it about 3 years it cost £1700 you can get them a small bit cheaper these days..
its way overkill for me as i'm only using 2 decks in traktor and using traktor in manual mode(no sync enabled)
it can be used to completely remix a track live you you wanted to

Just revamped my setup this week...expensive week
Sold this lot in for half the price i paid. my first setup cdj 1000mk3 + djm 400
Sourced 2 BNIB 1210 mk5G's off ebay and 2 more with a DJM909 from a local shop for some 4 deck business. Traktor scractch pro 2 + X1 controller on its way for tomoz with flouro green/orange glow in the dark timecodes. will have ortofon concordes tomoz too. Not setting all 4 up at the min due to space.
909's touch screen
Need to get a proper deckstand so i can get all 4 decks setup and later in the year il budget for a DJM 900 Nexus + Native instruments Mashine

I loved my decks.. i started off with Gemini XL500's (in facy i think i still have them!!)
The bought some Stanton STR8-100s - these were wicked had daft amounts of pitch bend in them, was mixing Heardcore, gabber and drum and bass with a selection of random hip hop in there..sold the lot and my 1000+ vinyls which i still regret to this day
Some of my fav tunes i had:
Un-cut - Midnight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aal13a6dvws&feature=related
Spaced invader - J magik rmx
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUMUXm3-5IA
What bass?? (classic intro and a filthy bass line!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwTZyuwtP88
Stand clear
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8an-Oo-5Fo
Ram trilogy - Screamer (epic tune)

I was into trance too and a bit of hard house, loved that join me track and a lot of demonde stuff. My best mate had some decks and we used to have a dabble, then we went to ibiza in 2002 and it just changed both our tastes, chilling out to house music got into flitered/eectro type house and funky house then, he started djing in a pub in Barnsley and we used to smash out whatver we wanted to play, he got a bit of a following as there was only 2 places playing that kind of stuff. He stopped in the end as he was working full time as a joiner and wanted his weekends back and sold all his equipment. He had some nice equipment, I had some direct drives and a cdj-100 (that was dog shit) for a while but it was to low spec when I was used to his DNS-5000 and cdj-1000. I'd love some decks but it's just not practical.

Grab some 1210s and start spending a fortune on vinyl
Was really into trance (before that Jungle, stuff like Helicopter, Original Nutta etc) when i was about 14 after i heard Rank 1 - Airwave and Barthezz - On the Move (great remix of this with Delirium's Silence) on some German music channel during a German lesson Trance has gone to pot now, but there were some top producers in the early 00's - 56k, 4 Strings, ATB, PVD, Tiesto (back when he was worth seeing/listening to ie: His remix of Oakenfold's Southern Sun), Super 8, Dumonde, Armin Van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Trinity X, System F etc etc
