With summer fast approcahing () and the possible lack of rain water (again ) I have invested in a water butt, pretty extreme as its only for my carnivorous plants! Suppose its good practice to have one anyway.
Cheapest I could find was £22 in Wilkinsons, although they wanted £7.50 for the drain pipe connectors, got the same thing in Wickes for £3.60!!
Just need to connect it all up now
Drains on the workshop and garage go straight in to the garden anyway, but now have some where to collect too.

Yeh they do fill up quickly - my parents are obsessed with sheds - we have 3 large ones in our garden, which all have guttering, and a water butt on each. A heavy night of rain will fill them comfortably!

call me stupid, but ive never really seen the point in these?
What do you use it for? simply watering the garden?
For the space is takes up and ease, a hose pipe and tap works just as well
Water isnt expensive either?

Bought it purely so I can water my carnivorous plants with the correct water. Chlorinated water burns the roots.
The space it takes up is nothing, its in the corner, hardly vital space and no bigger than a wheelie bin.
I guestimated 6 fills and it has paid for itself. The amount of water it collects and the speed at which it fills up means there is more than enough to do everything in the garden too.
As for not being expensive, if you can, why not?

What is the capacity of that one? Currently putting up a stable in my horses field and have been given a 1000L one to catch and use as drinking water for him.

Does not look like 200 gallon, that is around 750l, doesn't really look big enough?
