Im really tempted to get another hot tub for my backgarden. I had one at my old house for a short time; but was a portable one which i bought second hand and really wasnt efficent and used a hell of a lot more electric than was quoted!!

I have found this one i like online for £2K second hand but has been fully serviced and isnt very old. Here is a picture

I dont mind the running costs if they are what they say they are 55p a day for a large hot tub and 27p for small.

Has anyone got any experience with the costs of these; and if they really are as quoted?

Where's that from?

I had a lazy spa and I'd estimate it costing about 15 a week. Was way to expensive.

Would love a proper one now

morning hursty, been considering one myself.

I think in order to get a hot tub with decent efficiency, it really needs to be almost brand new.

Let me know how you get on

Yeah thats my understanding; but trying to find a middle ground at the moment as spending £6K on one is a lot of electric to save!!

I think i could justify between £10 & £15 a week on one as used my last one quite a bit.

My dads cost him about about
£25/£30 a month to run his. Although he paid a bit extra for the tub as it comes with a second pump etc which is quieter and helps the efficeny (sp).

edit: That includes the lights and sound system in the tub etc

do you leave them on all the time then?

never really known much about them, thought it was like a big bath of water with air bubbles and a heater you switch on before you get in

IIRC if you don't have it running the whole time the water goes stagnant so you wouldn't want to get in it

Generally you dont switch it off, even the heating.

I guess it depends on how often you use it, but if its frequently, it'll cost more to heat it from cold then to keep it ticking over.

Youd think there'd be some type of solar heating that would save you money.

Been really looking to import some last few days.

For a top of the range model, with all the extra's etc. Its about £1200.

Then by time you get shipping/handling/vat/duty on top, the price more than doubles.

Still mega cheap but its more than i can afford at the mo

Also, was at the norfolk show today. They had a stand with the exact model i can get, just had a diffo name. They wanted 7995 for it!

I need one in my life again. The lazy spa was so so good, but i want to go better this time if im spending my money

My prices were based on ordering 4, 3 of which I already had names for. It might work out cheaper if I could get 8 and get a 40ft container imported.

Just seems a serious amount of hassle trying to order, and I don't like ordering from china, risky isn't the word. I have pictures, when I'm up and on pc I'll post them

Im not sure what to do tbh. I cant afford it really, but its too cheap to turn down lol.

Now about to contact a local freight forwarder, do see exactly what its going to cost me.

The thing i do not like is the fact its bank transfer, which cannot be refunded if things go wrong. Risky.

Anyone bought one yet?

Ive been scanning ebay/gumtree for weeks, offering ridiculously low money for them. Had a few offers accepted, only to be told before collecting they changed mind.

someone will crack eventually
