Need a fixed mounting bracket for the wall. 42" Tv.
There seems to be quite a large choice out there. Is it worth getting one that tilts. I.e so if the sun is at a funny angle?
Not wanting to spend much as might be moving soon but need to do it now for space reasons.
Asda doing one for £15 that doesn't move, after it being just a couple of metalcbrackets I don't want to be paying £50+
Anything "wrong" with any of them I should look out for?

I got one off eBay last week, for £17 delivered, even came with a decent hdmi cable. Holds up to X amount of KG's... really good, has tilt on it too.

Exactly it's just a couple of fucking brackets. I know someone who paid £200 for one. Crazy.

Cheap is better for these imo. It is literally some sheet metal.
I've got a bit of wire off eBay holding mine up.

They all do the job, I've never heard of a TV falling off of a wall that has been put up correctly.
*touches wood*

As long as you catch a stud.
If not you either get metal brackets that you catch 2 studs with or you cut a hole, put a bit of wood behind then screw into the wood.

Mine wasn't hung to brick and was fine.

Can you get specific wall plugs that let you hang a TV on a plasterboard wall? Would quite like to hang a 32" on the wall but the metal stud work that's so common now is probably more flimsy than the plasterboard itself!

Will also be a slim Samsung LED TV too if that makes a difference. I guess they're a bit lighter.

Think you'd get away with it with one of the new Samsung's, my 55" only weighs 16kg, a few of the heavy duty plasterboard fixings would hold it.

i have my samsung 42'' plasma on a plasterboard wall, drilled into the studs.
mines a swivel bracket aswell so a lot more to go wrong than a normal wall bracket and it's fine.

Don't think I'll be able to do it anymore. My new flat has windows for three of walls in the bedroom, which I probably can't put screws into

Well i purchased this one from Ikea on Wednesday....
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90147936
Upon finishing painting and erecting my chest of drawers to go underneath i found that the packaging is missing the parts to attach the TV to the wall
Proper raging.
So seeming as i have the time off i have found a muich better one from B&Q although more expensive i cant be dicked with waiting,
Off to pick this up:
