the simca is being delivered today after dinner, but I'm doing a wedding with the Alvis (the car at the top of this thread) so the wife will have to sort it

a project thread has been started here.....

I'll be starting to strip the simca tommorow so I'll update tommorow night.

Does that make decent money? S'pose the project will've paid for itself before long.

I'm charging £70 for today....thats from brides house to registry office then onto the reception venue (about 20 miles in all)
but to be honest I'm hoping this will be the last wedding I do (i've done 3 since completing the restoration).......its a pain having to keep cleaning/waxing the car....I did a prom for some school leavers last friday and since then the car is filthy again......so busy cleaning again after dropping kids of at school shortly.
oh and its a pain trying to keep a stressed out bride happy

Do you still keep them outside? Bit of a shame if so after the work you did

Fantastic mate! Ive just laid up a future feature of Simcas including a Rallye in yellow. Let me know if you are still interested in writing a bit for us about your Alvis.

I remember seeing the first car on the web, loved it. The new project looks pretty cool too. And different.

well got back from the wedding at 3.45pm and the bride was well chuffed ......phew

the simca arrived at 4pm and its far worse than I remember from buying it last weekend.....things needing welding are....

floor, big hole in passenger side
sills, both total shot underneath
front inner wings, both can be repaired
rear outer wings, you can put your fingers through them

all good fun, tommorow it begins, starting with a full body strip down.....so I'll be up bright and early

my plan is to get it stripped and roll the shell onto its side so it'll be easier to sort the floor.

also got the service history, genuine 10k miles with one owner from new!
last taxed in 1983
