A policeman has been stabbed in the face right next to my car and it's been taped off as a crime scene! My wife was in the doctors and came out to find police everywhere and wasnt allowed near the car. She couldn't go anywhere so had to get a lift home from a policeman.

She said there's blood and dents down the side of our car. Hopefully they're not too bad and the police will pay for the damages, but you never know! Can't believe it!

It'll end up coming off your own insurance if anything probably.

Why would the police pay for it?

Policeman said that they have things in place for incidents like this and they might pay, I'm not a policeman so I'm can only go off what he said.

Cheers Ben.

Hopefully they'll just pull out and won't cost to much to sort out then if they won't pay anything. I'll be able to tell a bit better when I get the car back and have a look.

Fucks me off when people attack the police for doing their job. But yeah insurance is there for the damage to your car so won't be an issue

Well I got the car back, but no one rang me to say I could take it back. Went down to where it happened and the road was open, no police there or anything so I phoned them and got no answer. Police station was shut but they had left a note on the car with an incident number and the name of a police officer to ring. Rang it and no answer, wasn't going to leave it there so drove it home.

Cars got 3 dents right on the body line, level with the door handle on the rear drivers door. Doesn't look like it'd be easy to pull out but I'm no expert.

Hopefully the policemans ok, was a pair of scissors he was stabbed with. He was chasing some bloke who had shoplifted in m&s.

not the way to look at it but the officer should get a substantial pay out if he claims on it as scaring to the face gets the biggest payouts as its permenantly visable dunno how it works if your stabbed though mine was due to a fall and splitting it lol
