Id say this. Mainly for the Sequential box. but getting power to the rear might be a bit of a pain.
What about a trusty XE?
S/C Rover V8?

the sequential box is what is making me want to go for the bike engine. and the power delivery being a bit smoother. anything with big turbo power will just want to spin the rear wheels i would imagine.

R1 @ 150bhp ish would be a nice amount of power imo.
Just dont know how much you'd loose through the diff etc. Unless you rear mounted it.
No reverse though unless you bought a pro-motive reverse box

if it was only for track use then i wouldnt care about having reverse.
but will more than likly want to put it on the road so might be a problem.
did think an XE one would be cool but unsure of what box and diff to use??

Changeover box - 6gears forwards, 6 gears backwards is the way forwards

i wouldnt go bike engine, if you want high speed hi rev get a bike, car it to heavy and youll be doing 6k to pull off anywere
i would get a 2.0 with abit of torque
or be completly difernt and slap a harley engine in it
