Yup, head on backwards, manifold out the back instead of the front. IIRC better for heat/oil starvation?


Could be wrong though. Think its Swindon racing engineering who designed it.

Looking at the TVL pics shows that it doesn't have a reverse head.

Long rods, slipper pistons, 5or 6mm valves, colsibro guides, double or maybe triple springs, ti caps, 34mm buckets instead of 32mm, steel crank, dry sumped.

its an awesome car , the dizzy has been removed , i love how the throttle bodies lead into the inlet

thats not done propperly is it?

I thought the purpose of a reverse head was so the air whent in the front and out the back rather than the opposite / long way round

Like this one, note the inlet is at the front and the exhausts at the back

and aerodynamics - iirc it allowed for a better floor pan design - ie flatter..

I also like the mechanical high pressure fuel pump driven off the exhaust cam

Random comment.

Did you know that a number of the current BTTC Cars still run this engine (300bhp XE!) Including Mr Plato's car... Although I believe he's changing to the Turbo Engine later this year.
