the car in question is another smoke grey corsa..

here is it as it lies atm down at Dee's house needs transported up and more importantly paid for

beside my daily hack

plan is for it to look similar to my daily hack as tbh i think it looks alright

here it is..

the v6 in question is from a car i bought a few weeks back of DeeGTE

tonight me and jack took in to getting it removed..

engine is now just on its mounts will be lifted out some stage tomorro

plug holes full of oil.. and oil soaked engine.. but im sure most of you know why

and read to be lifted..

not much happening this weather alot on atm..

today
bought large gearbox
bought and transported shel home
bought pannels to leave me with a clean shell..

maxwell doing some engineering at the calibra

then down to dees to get it rolling and take it up to mine

as you can see the front is rough as fuck needs bonnet and wings and a bumper

rest is 100%

then up the road home

few of the pannels

next few days inside will be stripped and start on fitting the complete leather interior..

thanks all

well time is pressing on.. nights are opening up etc so its time to make a start..

unit is dried out etc...

so today on the blower to lon and got the car took from my drive up to the unit

two 2.0 corsas in grey on black sport wheels lol

the shell is in good shape.. front is now removed and scrapped..

cross member skebby but noting a bit of cleaning wont fix

corsa wheels dont quite cut the butter when it comes to the v6 discs

winchman himself

50mm OD stainless exhaust that came on the calibra... NICE shall be made to fit later

drilled discs that also came on the cali..

and the super touring wheels i got of jason19 a a few weeks back

and in ready for work

out of all the work im doing.. my only concern from the start was the radiator.. and i was right to be concerned.. as its fucking massive

will take some playing/ crossmember work to make it fit..

and one for jokes

cheers all

rude not to try it in.. and this is the only way it fits atm...

chassis leg were it was randomly painted.. shell is in great condition

and the flywheel? jesus fuck its massive

coouple of pics of the engine.. nothing a bit of cleaning wont fix

cheers all

next plan of attack is see if jackie will lend me his engine stand and strip the v6 and also strip the rest of the engine bay

today not alot was done as theres not much left before its fitting

adressed the exhaust problem. the rear exhaust is stainless so can be modded/welded easy enough

atm there are two plans

run the front manifold on the rear and rear on the front.. then mody the front

or just mod the rear and leave it at the rear

ideally plan 2 would work but if it failed it would be an enging out job to put right..

were the front manifold the downpipe flange is 20Deg of paralel to the crank were if i mod the other it will be square

heres a few pics..

rear as standered

front on the rear

the differences in them..

to clear the aux tentioner

then the differences in the cali and corsa alt/speedo/oil pressure loom..

cali,,

corsa

just a simple swap over

the clearance in the starter with the front manifold

ideally i want the fab'd rear one to sit like this.. only with the flange parallel to the crank just for a bit more ease..

thanks all

update time.. collected the f18 and thought id mock it up

random date.. im guessing its when it was made

then box on car moved over the beam and in it goes

clearance issues..

poke

inlet mods..

the inlet hits the top of the bulk head

exhaust clearance

no chance

front all bolts up as it should.. bit close to the x member but again.. no big deal

with the downpipes on and fitted you can see where it wants the rear branch to sit..

main exhaust.. sits well.. lambda may need moved but again.. no big deal

dipping for oil will be fun

the steadier bar..

all i will be using is the engine block and fab up a shell bracket and a we bar..

as its needed

and with the cover on

looks good

thanks all

not much happening as next is engine out built/modded and the shell modded/painted.. and none are happening in the unit..

so i made up an engine mount template so i can make it some rainy lunchtime

the plate thats parallell to the crank

finishes 6mm shy so the plate @90 will fit in side

how iit will look

job done

and the ST wheel looking snug

gsi kitted cars look very old imo

today it started in to getting ready for the shell fabrication

had a bit of a read out

now its a matter of stripping the paint of.. and ill take the easy approach to that rather then grind it...

give this stuff a go

and it just bubbeled and took all the paint that dee threw at the car off.. the rest might need someting stronger

as you can see the engine bay is a while state

paint stripper at work

then the bumper.. clearance for the v6 radiator.. it will need cut down in to the cross member

also threw the cover over jackies rallye as he is a right huffy bastard

more tomorro when the grinder comes out

today set about the first of the shell preperation

stripped out alot of shite..

cabin filter probs never been changed

then the brake lines.. a corsa has 2 leaving the master cylinder to a another block then that feeds each corner..

im running a bais valve and rear discs so i will be using a single line..

all for the scrap pile

battery tray also needs to go

cut out

drop of sc3n3 paint to seal it up again

then the revised radiator.. no change in hell

as jason suggested a 15td raditor i have one spare and tbh its not alot smaller than the v6 one so it makes sense

how it was left today

cheers
