Anyone ever heard of these?

Just spotted them advertised somewhere, they seem to do some pretty decent deals (payg)

http://giffgaff.com/goodybags

250 UK minutes
Unlimited UK texts
Unlimited Internet - Really unlimited
£10 a month

They run on 02 aswell so signal etc should be decent

...and you get unlimited calls/texts to other giffgaff users, don't you?

Been around a while, Dom's got a link in his sig, keep meaning to change over but it's an ass ache moving my number over, CBA.

What is it like getting your number back off them when you want to move away.

O2 are cunts with what they let you do with it, can't move certain ways, wouldn't want to be stuck.

PAC transfers are ok, although i've only done done it one way (O2 to GiffGaff) but users on the forums seem to suggest it's ok getting a PAC off GiffGaff. It's all automated/online anyways - request a transfer, 3/5 days later they transfer it over.

I had no problems moving from O2 to giffgaff last month and keeping my number, great network so far. Didn't realise I get free calls/txts to other giffgaff users either so got my brother and partner on it.

Very tempting. Only thing is, splashing out £500+ on a handset (iphone 5) is the only thing stopping me!

Quite interested in this, I use a PAYG o2 phone... iphone top up £30 a month to get free texts and internet. So Giffgaff would only be £10 plus i'd get £200 mins?

Seems pretty good, will have to look into it.

Yup, £10 Goodybag gets you 200mins (obviously excludes premium numbers, so it's worth sticking £10 on as well for credit), Unlimited Texts + Unlimited Data.

Ah, so unlike O2, you don't get the £10 as credit too?

Wouldn't say GiffGaff are hiding anything or that GiffGaff is 'too good to be true' but on the whole it generally works out cheaper than most PAYG tarrifs (having a quick scout, by all means suggest otherwise, O2 doesn't offer anything remotely similar in terms of mins/texts/data on a PAYG tarrif). And if you become active in GiffGaff's online community then you can earn money through their 'Payback' scheme (ie: getting kudos from a forum post); there are plenty of people on the forums that earn enough, and usually more, through Payback that it pays for the phone.
As i've said before, GiffGaff isn't for everyone.

I'm not complaining, it's just I'd be a bit buggered if I wanted to ring an 08 number for example. Maybe naive, but I assumed you'd also get to keep the balance too like other providers. I do agree tho, you do seem to get more for your money. Saying that, I've found a contract for £12 a month, Samsung Galaxy Ace, 200mins, 500texts, 1GB data, which to me sounds ideal. Unsure what to do at the minute.

Would O2 to giff gaff calls be counted in the free O2-O2 calls you get on O2?

£12 a month is bloody cheap. On o2 you pay £10 just for 1GB data allowance.

I use Three PAYG, every time you top up £10 you get 600 texts (3 month expiry) and 150mb Internet but keep your £10. I then buy a 2gb monthly internet for £5.

No calls included though obviously. Fine for me though.
