Getting a bit bored of my s2000, not sure if I really want to change or not, but considering a 350z instead?
Is this a stupid idea?
My old flat mate sold his one to get an s2000, so not sure what to think really. 350z is probably worse on fuel and heavier / more wallowy in corners.
Of course, I'd face the issue of having to try to sell my s2000 too... anyone want a cheap project?
I suppose I could just chuck some money at the s2000 to make me like it more, e.g. a bit of TLC to tidy it up and maybe supercharger / turbo kit?

haha, depends what sort of money people would offer me. To be honest I'd probably let it go in it's current state for around £3950 or something ... If I fixed it all, I'd probably ask for £5.5-6k.

23 mpg at best from people I know who've owned them.
Nice comfy toy, but better options out there

I even had the idea of taking the engine out of my s2000 and putting it in a kit car, then selling the rest for spares
To be honest, my car's not that bad, it's mostly cosmetic, worse bit is the roof.
- Roof rear plastic screen is taped up
- Wheels need a refurb as paint flaked off a bit
- Slight scuff on front bumper
- A little bit of bubbling on the bottom corner of the door.
- A few car park dings from kids who can't open doors properly.
... that's the main problems, which I keep considering giving to Tom @ Lemass to sort out.
Oh and 2nd gear synchro is a bit ... To be honest though you barely notice it unless vtec'ing from 1st / 2nd.
Car ultimately drives / handles superbly still, that's the problem I think I'd miss how agile it is on the coilovers (it's the reason my mate sold his 350z and bought an s2000 after coming out in mine).

350z is a proper mans car. not the best but sounds great, looks great and has a big engine in.
wouldn't say they are slow but they aren't going to feel as raw as your s2000 does.
ask fro and hammer on here as they owned and own them.

I was getting high 20's in mine as a mixture of driving, could get low 30's on the mway.
Obviously sub 20's if you're hooning it but the thing scared me a few times doing full throttle shifts on slight bends so didnt rag it around loads
With your flat mate having owned one you should know all there is to know though?
Rear CV's are common fault as is gearbox synchros, had both issues on mine but were fixed under warranty.
Edit: deceptively quick, interior on pre facelifts is plasticy but having come from an S2k it may be better than that anyway.

I found the 350z's to be nice but not amazing; sound good; look good from outside but weren't really fast nor did they feel like they could handle well! I went from a BMW z3m to mine and then went back to the BMW for the facts above; and the handling on your S2000 is prob better and more responsive than my BMW was so you would notice it more.

The 350z is top of my 'next car' list. I took one out for a test drive last week, was nice...not much feel though. But yeah, going to be selling the pug next month...maybe you should buy it back if you wanna upgrade from the S2000? lol

I've had mine just over a fortnight, nothing but good reports so far apart from the amount of fuel I've put in it but that will settle down when I've stopped tanking it about everywhere.
The noise off it at the top end of the rev counter and the short gearbox are

Best engine I've ever experienced, as fro says though, the interior isnt the best.
You'll hate it going from an s2000 though. Its not a sports car, it's more of a gt IMO

If you do, go for a post '07 model as they were fitted with the slightly better VQ35HR Engine.

55 plate and below - £260
I've been told the engines in these, although slightly less powered are the better and more raw option.

They are big and heavy but they are perfectly weighted hence the reason they are quick round tracks. Much quicker than the equivalent TT for example.
