Just means more people will be doing 90-100 mph instead of 80-90 mph tbh.

very true i usually sit at 90mph after nights because i know i'll only get 3 points if caught.

now i an do another 10mph and still get 3 points

there'll probably be a law which keeps the 100mph ban limit whilst increasing the limit to 80mph.

not really is there?

the only average speed cameras that annoyed me were on the M25 from my house to stansted but they were removed as soon as the roadworks (carriageway widening) were finished.

i don't encounter any on my daily commute.

It wont change a thing imo.

I dont know anyone that sits at 70. If theyre safety concious they normally sit at 60. Other regular motorway users normaly sit at 80-90. It seems to be one or the other.

Texas was on the news not long ago because they raised their highway speed limit from 70 to 80 and it became the fastest speed limit in the western world

You use more than 10% extra fuel doing 80 rather than 70.

70 v 80...

so you get there 14% quicker yet use 10% more fuel

so im still 4% better off doing 80 than 70 factoring in my time and fuel costs

You are a complete and utter fanny of a boy. No-one at any point played the christian motorist card - what 'we' were in fact saying was that we wouldn't do 80mph past the traffic police in a 70 up here because 99% of the time you'd get a pull just for being a cheeky twat. I do remember that thread, where you went past the police at 10mph over the speed limit and came on whining like a wee lassie about how the police were this, the police were that when you in fact had just pushed your luck and got pulled up for it.

I've been ignoring your non sensical pish as of late but at least do me the favour of putting little sprinklings of the truth in your bullshit when what you're discussing concerns me.

If the cops on a motorway go at 70mph, I always go past at 75-80mph and never once looked at me weird or pulled me.
Probably as I have a BMW and are supposed to be in the "fast" lane.
