Anyone driven the track yet, or even just been to the venue?

It looks to be a track thats closer to Scotland than a lot of others but possibly have to go down the M1/A1 Seems quite a flat featureless circuit though Is it?

Its an alright little track, the circuit itself is all flat as it was an airfield but its much better than places like elvington for example.

The track flows quite nicely and its a proper tarmac surface, very grippy in the wet. They have built up some big mounds of dirt around Bishops/Bunga and there is a wall pretty close coming out of Lancaster to further cement the illusion of it not being an airfield, works well. They use it for Rally Cross too but when I was there they had a truck out clearing all the stones off the track. Its really good for spectators and facilities are good, there is a big barn that will hold loads of cars and kit if needed.

For what their charging for open pit full days £100-£120 ish) its very good Its quite a short track though, I was getting bored about mid afternoon but then again i do that on most tracks.

A friend went in his Caterham style kit car and was impressed by it, said the straights weren't overly long.

From the videos Ive seen, I think they need to add some proper kurbs in, no risk to cutting corners for most of them.

My experience of airfield tracks are that they are ideal if yoou are just learning or getting into doing track days as they are generally very forgiving, flat and they are cheap.

I have done a few at Colerne and Abingdon and they were good fun but I wouldn't do any more, would rather do a proper track.

planning on doing one there soonish as its only about 15 mile from my house

hope they have resurfaced the road to it as it was terrible when i last went a couple of years ago to watch rallycross.

Im a bit confused as to why, when its an airfield, some of the corners seem to have little run off in that vid

I know its on a airfield and crap but its not a traditional airfield track day is it? I was under the impression that most 'airfield trackdays' were ran on the harsh ground which fuck up your tyres. From the pics and guides I've read its got fresh tarmac thrown down - not aload of cones.

i dont understand this 300 quid thing.

if its 300 quid and you get the track to yourself then that sounds good

if its 300 quid just for an all day open pit type thing then thats crap
