Anyone have any experiences with them looking for some snow tyres in 225/40/18 and they are the cheapest ones i can find in that size?

I've never seen a problem with my normal tyres, seem fine all year round.

Snow socks would be a right carry on taking them on and off every 5 mins.
Where i live its all hills and when it snows its a nightmare just getting out the street.

Of the winter tyres that size they're one of the better ones tbh.
Sold 100's of them last year and got nothing but good reports about them
Pretty much the same as avon winters

Ive always had problems in the snow
Live up top of a hill, not that steep, but its the only way to my house.
Goodyear Eagle F1's on Corsa C 1.8 SRi - didn't go no where.
Michelin Pilot Exalto's on Clio 182 - just as bad
Put some budget shitters on the 1.8 Corsa, went up hill's with ease

I ended up walking to work last year when it was bad, didnt even botherhave to get up a hill to my work, and up a hill to get back to my house. Either way i wasnt going to win.
When i had the Eagle F1's on the Corsa, stuck on the hill leading to my house, couldnt get grip, an E46 M3 Vert over took me

Depends what you're currently running, I wouldn't even attempt to use my Astra in the snow, they're absolutely terrible and I thought I was going to crash the whole time.
Corsa on Michelin SX GTs was the same a few years back, getting stuck all the time on daft little hills.
I would not enjoy using anything with vaguely wide tyres if there are alternatives. At least if you have a spare set of smaller rims and some tyres already it's a cheap way of not being stuck and annoyed.

They will do the job.
You'll be the one laughing when you drive past everyone.
I was getting wheel spin in 5th last year in my old Sport with T1-R's.
Best car in the snow was my old Auto 3.2 Signum, press the snow button, and it didn't slip at all pulling away it was great, along with the heated leather.

The car still looks like this standard with 18" pentas so was gonne but the same size tyre but the cooper snow tyre.
Been in touch with a lad on ebay selling some 17" and was gonna buy they and put some part worn snow tyres on but he is messing me around a little now so he has until 12.30 to make a decision if he is going to sell me them or not then if not il order some tyres for the pentas.
Will i get away having just 2 on the front or is having snow tyres all around a must?

Driven ones are the most important. Probably cheaper to go to 16s if the brakes allow it.

No, you'll just be stuck in the queue behind the people with bald summer tyres
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Driven ones?? you mean used?
Should get away with 16" but even the price of steel wheels seem silly nowdays.

Yeah driven wheels, ie. just the front.

Not sure how they are on offset.
See what you mean about the Astra H stuff, thought they would be cheap while it's entry level size.
These would be the best but I can see them going daft money.
