Hi guys,

Was at Donington park yesterday with focused events on the GP track, had a good day and the weather held off all day so was mostly dry.

From last time i've been there i've had new brakes, new seat, kpro and some alignment adjustments so was keen to see the difference.

Here's a few pictures and a scruffy lap but the best i have on video.

like the colour and discreet gfx

What geo changes did you make (what tyres too?)

Looks like you could still do with more camber on the front (castor would be even better)

Geo changes were:

rear camber from -1.8 to -2.2
rear toe from 0 to 0.25mm toe out (per side)
front toe from 0.25mm to 0.5mm toe out (per side)
Front camber is at -3.2 suspension can go stiffer however which would negate some roll, i will most likely fit some 10mm spacers to try and bring the contact patch perfectly flat in the slow corners.

Wheels are 17x8 ET38 with Yoko A048s 225/45/17 in lotus compound (to soft i think)

Also ran on Uniroyal rainsport 2's in the morning when it was damp so they may be fitted in a few of the pictures where it looks like there's quite a bit of sidewall deflection.

-3.2 and -2.2 is quite a lot of camber already :O just didnt look it in the pics

Front toe - how did you find that change? I woulf have though whilst being more stable it might feel a bit numb on turn in. Edit - just re-red and its OUT Aye, that'll make it more darty

That was the plan to make it more darty, in terms of speed taking craners at 110 as apposed to 103 - 105 previously so it seems to have made a difference as i can still keep the car pretty balanced at that speed.

Car has a 1.5way Kaaz plate diff which helps too.

Graphics are for my company i've started.

how does this compare to my dc2? I'd imagine you have more power but I have less weight?

With driver and half a tank of fuel the car weigh's 1185kg.

Power is 210bhp ATF

Not sure how that compares with yours?

I'd imagine we'd be roughly the same power to weight ratio then.

I really want to do the national track to gauge a lap time in comparision to the likes of trackday trophy.

Can't even get a good idea from your video's as you have a much better run onto the straight

Looking at it i still think there is 2 seconds to be made.

Old hairpin (bottom of craner curves) loads more speed could be carried if i got on the curb more.

Out of both hair pins i could get on the power earlier.

Through the chicane upto the first hairpin could carry alot more speed.

both r888's and slicks! and running on low boost, 256bhp! got a 1.29 lap in my clio on a048 tires!

i was hoping slicks would be faster but they are only 200wide so seem to give same grip as the wider r888! just use slicks cos they are soo much cheaper!

didnt have my wavetec lsd diff in for donnington which is in now, made huge difference! pulls u out of tight corners so well and drags u round exits of corners! really need to sort out brakes now cos they are shocking and also a beta suspension set up would be nice! not sure i can get much more out of a £160 set of coilovers! lol

Thats odd, as the MR2's lap Donington in 1.25-1.30 and they are less than 200bhp, minimal mods allowed on R888s

i would expect an mr2 to out brake me easily and be beta in the corners cos of beta chassis and engine layout! van is just good fun cos people dont expect it to be quick ish........clio is prob more fun to drive cos u keep feeling that u can go a little bit faster and brake a little bit latter in that! van u just hope u will stop for the corner with current brakes, lol

I reckon the Civic could do 1:22 with a decent driver in it.

That's 210ATF and 1185KG with driver and fuel.
