Decided I fancy a 3 series compact e46, so I've just been to see a 316ti se in met blue, full black leather etc etc blah blah 94k on the clock £2995, auto trader price was £2395, the guy at the garage says he'll honour the 2395 - it's not in bad nick, few scratches, condensation in one of the rear lights, it's going to need a new wing mirror.
I don't know a lot about them so a few little questions,

If it says service -11k does that mean it's due a service in 11k or it's overdue a service by 11k?
Is a wing mirror going to cost me the earth?
How hard is condensation in rear light to sort out?

Thanks in advance

I was looking at Z4s a few weeks ago. Found a really nice (looking) one, but 9000 overdue a service and not a jot of service history with the car

meh I like the normal ones, you just don't see many compacts, cheap enough to insure etc.

The E46 ones dont look too bad imo. If you can afford the extra insurance i would definetly go for a coupe but if not then a compact isnt a bad car

Shut up Dave, E46 coupe, anymore doors means you've got kids and cutting a couple of feet of the back means you're gayer than a threesome between Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Will Young

There are plenty of cheap 318's about.
Get them cheaper than the compacts and put savings towards insurance.

In no rush so will certainly consider a 318, can be made to look smart quite easily too.

I would get it if it has service history, as it may have had an oil change but never reset the interval. Also chance it at £2000, the engines are bullet proof so will be fine.

Compacts are easier to park, therefore gay.
