I had mine done Friday so just missed it aswell.
I imagine these new ones will be extremely easy to forge.

Seems a bit illogical to make them easy to forge!

Even if forged they have to be entered onto the DVLA database. If its not there it will show up as no MOT.

its all on a central database, having a forged ticket will get you no where.
if you had access to the tickets the old ones were easier to copy

But anyone can photocopy one of these new ones and change the details and effectivly sell a car with no MOT and say it has a ** months on it. What's chances your average person will check online to see if it actually is. mot'd.

true didnt think of that,
suppose it comes down to the buyer needing to do all relevant checks when buying a car.

It is just a plain piece of paper, they don't send garages printed templates anymore. Cost cutting.

It is for cost cutting but apparently all stations have the same printer and have to buy the same ink and paper which is a certain weight so I was told.

^It just has a box to say a advisory was issued, so you could just tell the buyer it was somthing minor and its been fixed.

True, all the people I know that work at garages were going mad as it's going to cost a fortune for cartridges
