Wouldn't buy anything like that so no.. but if I had a B 1.5/1.7TD then I'd be interested in tuning it. Very solid engines.

So thorneys vxrd is basically the same as a thulbys t888.
Except for old cars rather than new from factory.
Can only see a few people buying that.

But away yfrom dtuk, regal do diesel stuff also. Quite alot of people on aon tune diesels even if it's only a little bit or a just a map.

Has anyone actually played about with the 1.9CDTi yet? As in bigger turbos, injectors, etc? What are the engines capable of?

Few people in this country are getting the VAG 1.9PDs to around 300bhp with well over 400lb/ft, with bigger injectors, cam, and GTB22/65 or 22/60 turbos.

There is a couple people with 300bhp+ and over 400 torques from a 1.9 cdti but it has cost a far wack.
Most seem to get to 230-250bhp and 360 torques and then hit a brick wall.

Darkside developments are the guys doing the turbos and injectors.

Tom's will be touching 300 when he gets a cam in, he did have one but the quality was shocking. Think he is just waiting for it to turn up at the moment

Not this again.... Power band in a tuned diesel is about 2-5/5.5k, which is much larger than most petrol cars. Mine is only 4-6.2k. And with the right turbo bhp is still there at redline

thats why they have a wide ratio box....dont need to have high rev limiter, as stated most petrol turbos actual peak power is 5.5k to 5krpm

Exactly, mine does 145mph at 4000rpm, show me a 2.0 petrol which does that....

In the first couple of gears yes, you have to change gear sooner, but the top 4 gears are longer, so no need to.

It'll also sit in 4th at 30mph and pootle around town at 1000rpm....
