Have you noticed when different forums they all have their own unique persona? Like if you read through 50 threads you can generally predict the outcome of a thread as soon as it's posted?
On CS typical replies are...
quote: Steve
That is
No.
I like that
Boobies
On other forums such a PH they're mainly stuck-up cunts or really nice, adding their name to the end of each post, starting posts with 'Hi,', etc... I dunno, I frequent lots of forums and each one has their own unique group persona, just found it amusing, I'm guessing most people have noticed this too, hard to miss really
No real point, just thinking allowed
Expected CS replies:
And?

EDIT: Just to extend on this, I've been doing social experiments for a long time now, I'd post the same thread/topic/reply on various forums at the same thing, in the same context, etc... and on some forums they find it funny, others think you're a knob, others report you to the Police, others try and DOX you as much as they can in an attempt to scare you, others get locked instantly by moderators, etc. It rarely always goes the same way, it seems like the forum as a whole has a general opinion, and lots of users reply with the most obvious answer that they think the community will agree with in an attempt to be correct, but on the other hand people go against the norm in an attempt to be witty and different (John instantly springs to mind here)... Hmmm!

You're quite right, but I don't think it's entirely down to which forum you're on. You can have sensible threads on here same as you can have threads thrown off course very quickly indeed. As is the case on most places, aside from the predominant trend.
It's definitely a product of who gets to the thread first and whether they need the attention that their mother doesn't give them.
You'll get a bit of debate in here. I've never not joined in a debate thread of yours, but you'll always get my feelings. Some people are more lazy than that and will just reply based on their opinion of you, which may not actually be pertinent to the thread. Some may have a position and not want to debate it. You got a few hundred people on a quiet day looking, you're going to get variety.
Classifiable, but nevertheless variety.

Forums are like social groups though, but on a large scale.
Each forum differs and the way people act/speak on each forum differs.
A bit like at school, when people are in their social groups they are different to how they are on their own, and we ourselves act differently when we are with certain social groups.

What I find weird about forums is when you join a new one say vxronline or clio197.net you don't get taken seriously but I've been on the Internet for 11 years now and there is no way to make people aware of that

An example of a proper weirdo is Adam Petherwick. Strange boy, married some Jam Roll who then left him after he got her to pose in woodland in his corsa diesel that stank of piss

I can't deny I sometimes do this but it's normally always obvious.
A lot of my opinions aren't just the same as everyone else's, I'm also like that off the forum.
Also, lolz at social experiments, socially retarded is closer to the mark.
