Been looking into getting an old SWB Shogun/Pajero for winter.

Found one local so punched in the details for insurance.......£1286

Cars only worth a grand

That was an import so tried a UK car......£700 seems the cheapest.

My M3 & RS were less to insure

I was looking not long ago and 4x4's are pretty expensive to insure for me too.

Yeah I was only looking at stuff that was between 1 & 2k. Maybe its cos you can do quite a bit of damage if you crash in one

Didnt really want to get anything decent because i'll not want to keep it past winter and dont want to loose money on it, but the older ones seem a premium to insure!

What level of cover are you going for? Often FC is cheaper than TPFT and TP only

just buy a small hatch back... skinny tyres, weight on the front - away you go.

Sell, burn whatever once your done with it.

My old panda would have fitted the bill perfectly
