Thought i'd get one of these up finally...

had the car a few weeks now so thought i'd show people what the corsa turbo has been replaced with!

Either way... Wanted one forever, been looking for about 6 months for the right one as it had to be a 6speed manual, had to be a twin turbo and unfortuneately, had to be a 98 reg onwards due to my private reg plate (s)....

So i found this little beauty...

1998 Toyota Supra RZ
6 speed manual
Twin turbo
54k miles (40k of these were kilometres)
Lots of history (including rare jap history)
RARE gunmetal colour (greyish green mica metalic)

Few mods, very nearly stock.

Carbon fibre/Magnesium steering wheel option
Bilstein-TRD damper option
TC
AC
Active areo spoiler
Recaro Speed seats as stock
Leather rears
UK Brakes (big 4 pot fronts, big 2pot rears)

Facelift so lights/bumpers etc etc

Mods:
Blitz nür spec RX exhaust
Double Decat
K & N panel filter
Chris Wilson Uprated side mount Intercooler (4"core)
Greddy Profec B II boost controller
Sard Boost Gauge Now located in clock location
Speedline Forged Magnesium wheels (18x9 / 18x10) with eagle f1's all round
Eibach Proline springs
Cusco Master cylinder brace
Cusco front strut brace
Rear foglight mod
8k HID's
Pioneer ipod headunit (from corsa)
De tinted
LED sidelights

Some of which was on the car when i bought it, some of which i have done since i've had it..

Runs 1.2bar on stock twins and makes 409bhp for those who just care about pub figures.

Anyway... Pics:

From a local jap meet monday:

So yeah, mega plans obviously, but have to get rid of the corsa first.... so until then, minor things, and keep her clean (already clayed poorboys'd collinited etc etc)

cheers for looking

Like that. Not to keen on the wheels but you'll no doubt change them anyways.

cheers all, as said the wheels will be going shortly, as will the suspension for a decent coilover set up

its a fair way off that 1200hp video but still shifts rather quickly for a barge

Great Cars

My memory is a bit ropey but i think it might be an RZ-s

Mine had the Bilsteins too and some other bits n' bobs that I think were deemed RZ-S (might be talking pish - I sold mine about 6-7 years ago now).

1.2bar - 400bhp is pushing your luck on the ceramics a bit btw. I went through 2 sets - first the debris just went out the exhaust, 2nd set must have lifted and 'inhaled' the debris - engine rebuild

Got the engine built by Leon Green at JPS, st3 hybrid turbos from him - just shy of 500bhp.

Still - fucking awesome cars! So smooth, so refined. They really start to get into their stride at 70+ and will do 180'ish without much bother (and a few more ponies)

I'll have to go dig out pics mine now. Wouldnt mind another but just cant vind a reason for it

cheers AK, the RZ-s was an earlier model, the RZ is a late facelift version, where the bilstein trd shocks do come as stock yeah

the ceramics are regarded as safe at 1.2 bar but like you say, you had bad experiance etc with them, i've set the boost controller to 1.15 bar at the moment with a 1.2warning so should hopefully be alright for a while

Not wrong about 70mph+ though, i had 155 in fifth with 1krpm and 6th still left to go was quite worrying how stable it was at those sort of speeds

Only reason ive bought one is that i've always wanted one, and with insurance coming down sensible for me, and not doing many miles, i thought why the hell not cant wait to start playing with it, and getting it on some track days

Re: RZ / RZ-S

RZ was orig (RZ, GZ and SZ) then then replaced the base RZ with RZ-S and gave RZ the bigger wheels etc..... according to some website.

So... in short, who knows Both RZ's!

I have some vids somewhere I'll dig out.

I miss mine - was such a comfy cruiser compared to the R32 and R33.
