Hullo,

Been thinking for a wee while now if it was time to change the Subaru. Wanted (maybe) to get something a bit cheaper to run and insure / maintain, but not by that much. Seen this Golf GTI on PistonHeads and got me thinking...

Anyone have one? Or know much about them?

Sort of torn between changing, or sticking with the Scoob...

Any thoughts?

Sold my 305bhp STI PPP (blobeye) and now driving an 78bhp Fiesta and catching the bus to work... you know the strange bit? I don't miss the Subaru at all.

Sell it and save money imo.

if you really want to save money and value that more than owning an amazing motor, then sell it.

all depends what you're saving for. if you're just saving for the sake of it, you'll end up spending the money on shit. if you're saving for a house deposit or to pay off loans then you'll be more dedicated and feel like you're achieving something.

Must admit I'm not really saving for anything... kind of a deposit I guess, but overall it just feels great having more money in the bank it does actually feel better than putting my pedal to the metal tbh.

Cheers for the thoughts! Emailed him anyway with a few questions and stuff, so will take it from there I guess.

Will go out tomorrow and clean the Scoob if the weather is okay - that usually settles my mind when it's shining!

@Ben - Hoping to get a house next year, however I think I might be able to just about keep the Subaru as well, not sure yet. I think I'm trying to convince myself that I need something cheaper... we'll see.

That's really hurt your feelings ain't it

Plus you won't need to pay out on constant engine failures

Seen a lot more engines let go in subarus than Evos. It's the gearboxes and transfer boxes that like to go tits up on Evos

Yeah def, we are all chavs and take cocaine so I'm led to believe. No longer socially acceptable to own a Subaru.

Edit: one of the most stunning Hawkeyes I've seen - don't sell it.
