Oh dear
The geordies are going to fully kick off about this. Expect boycotts and whoever ends up with the naming rights in the end to be shunned by thier fans.
This isn't going to go down well.

At the end of the day it will always be St James' Park to the fans and if it generates funds that are reinvested in the club I really don't see the big issue.

Exactly, If it = £'s i'm all for it but knowing Cashley it won't be reinvested into the team.
Always be SJP anyway.

Fucking a-men! What's in a name really The only thing I would say is daft is that it's not an Arena, it's a Stadium but it's really neither here nor there

It will always be St James Park so there literally is no big deal.
It's a name, it generates revenue. All good.

Is that the same way that you were told the Andy Carroll money would be invested in the squad?

The money was to be re-invested in the club, not the squad

That's IF they got a proper sponsor though, Sports Direct will be getting it for free and if it's anything like last time (Sportsdirect.com@stjamespark) nobody will want to take them up on the offer because of the negative feelings behind renaming a stadium that has had a historic, loved name since 1800. Which means it'll stay as the Sports Direct Arena (which is possibly their plan anyway) and we'll probably end up with Sports shitting Direct on the shirts aswell.

What makes you think Sports Direct will be getting it for free?
There will be some sort of renumeration, Sports Direct probably have excess profits he doesn't want to pay tax on or something equally creative.

In previous years accounts, we haven't received anything for all the tatty blue and red shite advertising that is currently in the stadium (infact it cost us £40k to put them up), we didn't get anything for the "sportsdirect.com@stjamespark" as they said it was being used as an example to prospective sponsors, the same as this name change is being billed.

Either way, given Newcastle's recent past I wouldn't be slating Ashley for sticking up a sign. He has brought in a manager and players that have taken you from 1 end of the table to another. Amongst harsh criticism from almost everyone.
