That 'why are you living at home thread' got me thinking about my out goings, I know one of my largest out goings at the moment is in petrol. Just went through my account and got all spending in petrol roughly for the last month:

£448.71
Only one of those fill ups was 'business' mileage (i.e claimable back), the rest is just general commute / going places in the country to see friends or whatever. Mostly v-power, rarely filled up to the brim (why pay to carry excess weight in fuel).
How much does everyone else spend on petrol a month? Is it time for a more economical car?
(don't forget to say whether it's reclaimable / business)

I've not got any conclusive bills but I'm getting 45ish miles to £20 and I have to fill up every few days I'll have a go at working it out later.
Edit: Oh, and mine is always filled with Vpower. Mapped to run that so no point risking it!

a normal month is £85.00, every 10 days so £255.00 a month but last month, my fuel bill was in excess of £500.00, fortunately, most of that was business mileage so could be claimed back

£100 a month in my Focus, thereabouts. Only commute 10 miles a day, maybe a bit more to my GF's house. I brim the tank too, I know its an extra 45kg but fuck visiting a petrol station 3 times a week
My MX5 was doing something silly like 19mpg I blame the tired old engine and heavy right foot...

Just worked it out as an average since getting my van and it's about £400 a month which gets me 3200 mles.
Edit: and the not filling up due to extra weight is pointless it just means more time out of your month spent at the petrol station, plus traveling to and from the petrol station. I used to do that when I first passed my test, putting a tenner at a time in, soon got bored when I was in the petrol station everyday, sometimes even twice a night
