I have a tree outside my house on the council grass which you have to walk under to get to your car. It's huge and all the grass under it has turned to mud where no light can get through, so it's proper bad, tons of dogs shit around the area and it's just horrid. The branches hang really low so you have to duck under them and the leafs it drops go all over your car, as well as birds shitting on your car unless you park down the road. Even parking down the road, so many leafs blow off it that it's covered literally every car near it, plus the dust and other shit that it kicks off is unreal.

The council won't remove it unless it's dying or dead so I really want to kill it. All the neighbours are in agreement, it's a joke and really frustrating to live near it. It's literally right outside of my garden path so you're forced to walk under it, spiders make webs that reach the garden and it's just really annoying.

I'm sure people will get on their high horse and say it's illegal, I'm scum, etc...

Anyway, any ideas on how to kill it so they will remove it? I was thinking about getting a long drill and drilling into it from lots of angles and then pouring some fluid down it to soak in?

I don't have access to serious chemicals to try and keep it realistic.

Cheers.

As mentioned TPO.

What do you really think pouring chemicals on its going to do? Do you think itl slowly die and shrink like a flower, no chance.

Council catch you doin anything to a tree with a TPO expect a hefty fine.

Get them to trim the branches or do it yourself?

Whatever you do dont try driving into out, ive yet to see a tree lose that battle.

Cut all the low branches off. If it's as bad as you say with blocking the path the council can't have any objection to that.

Get some photos or link us to street view?

I love how you find it fine to drive about like a complete wanker but think people will think less of you for chopping a tree down that no one wants

Chop it down, hammer copper nails into it.

even when its dead you'll have a long wait before the council come to move it...

a grandparent of mine had this problem, there was a huge dead tree out the back of there's and they got onto the council as they thought it would fall onto there house (being old and worrying as they do)
took them roughly 7 years to come out and they only chopped a bit of the top of, i'd say about a 1/3 of the overall height

I'm in the same boat and the council won't do fuck all coz 'its not in their budget' yet it blocks a shit load of light from my room and stopped us from having Sky because it blocks the signal. Wish I could chop the fuckers down.
They're 3 huge trees that stand alot taller than our house.
