Seen a Caviler for sale (been after one for ages) got no Tax or MOT so it's un-driveable, so will need towing. So my question is has anyone got a trailer/truck capable of doing this? Will roughly be 296 miles (maybe bit more) that's from my house (WS15) to winchester and back again. If anyone can help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Sounds like it's drivable. Just book the car in for an mot local to you and drive it back. I wouldnt be going out my way and paying people money to lend a trailor for a car that you can probably buy for £200.

someone is going to want a pound a mile minimum to trailer that thing 300 miles, is it worth nearly 300 quid in trailering costs alone?

Bit of a grey area tbh. You can only tax a car if you have an mot and it is legal to drive to an mot test without tax. Some people say that you have to find an mot station as close as possible but im not sure if there's any law to this. I've done it a few times, aslong as you're insured you should be fine. I expect a lot of people to disagree but fcuk paying £300 to collect a car that's worth less than that.

You'd need someone to drive it iirc as i looked at being able to use dads recovery trucks on my licence and I'm pretty sure I can't.
